A Summer I’ll Never Forget

Hey Everyone! My name is Reagan Larson and I am a member of PC ‘23. This summer I had the incredible opportunity to travel with LeadAbroad on the Direct Greece Session 2. Over  two weeks, we spent our time in Athens and Mykonos where we got to explore some of the most beautiful places and experience things I will never forget. Greece has always been a dream destination for me. From the beautiful blue water in Mykonos to the history filled streets in Athens, I knew it would be beautiful but I truly didn’t realize the lasting impact it would leave on me. 

On the second day I arrived in Athens we were given an opportunity to bungee jump over the Corinth canal. I can’t lie, this was possibly the most terrifying thing I have ever done, but thanks to my awesome leader who encouraged me to take a leap (literally!) outside of my comfort zone, I went for it. I can confidently say that this moment set the tone for the rest of the trip. Saying “Yes” to the jump allowed me to fully embrace the adventure and each experience that followed with an open mind. 

Beyond the views and adventures we took, what made this trip so meaningful to me was the connections I built with the girls on the trip. Whether we were watching the sunset over the water in Mykonos, hiking the ancient ruins in Athens, or sharing the same meal for the third time in the one week, every moment was full of joy, laughter and a sense of sisterhood. All of the memories we shared made our time together so special and turned a group of girls into lifelong friends. I came home with a deeper appreciation for the world around me and the people in it.

One of my favorite days of the trip was our boat day in Mykonos. We spent the day on the water stopping at different spots to jump into the clear blue water and soak up the sun. Music was playing, everyone was dancing and I felt like I was truly living out my Mamma Mia dream. It was a perfect day that I wish I could relive over and over. 

LeadAbroad gave me more than a vacation. It gave me a new perspective on the world, lifelong friendships, and memories that I will cherish forever. If you are thinking about taking the trip, do it! You won’t regret it!
