If you have the same doubts I did…
When I was going into college, people would always ask me if I was going to join a sorority, and never once did I hesitate to say no. No one in my family was ever a part of greek life. I had my mind set on not doing it, ever.
I met multiple girls throughout the summer who were so excited to rush, and I had no idea why. In my mind, I believed all of the stereotypical things that surrounded greek life. I believed things such as: “it’s paying for your friends” and “all sororities girls do is party.”
So I decided to not rush my freshmen year. I didn’t think it was for me. I didn’t think it was worth it.
My outlook changed when I watched my friend Chelsea fall in love with her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. I watched her grow into a better person, find herself, and find her best friends. Throughout my whole freshman year, I started to truly learn what greek life was all about.
Sophomore year rolled around, and I decided I was gonna give it a go. My first day, I went to ADPi and I understood. I understood how Chelsea could fall in love with this place and these girls, and I started to fall in love too.
After getting a bid from my dream sorority, this love only grew so much stronger.
Thank you Chelsea for encouraging to take a chance. Thank you Alpha Delta Pi for giving me a home and the best friends I could ask for. I couldn’t imagine my life without you now that I’m apart of you.
With much love,
