Alpha Delta Pi Is My Answered Prayer
My name is Mallory Wallis and I wanted to elaborate on my rush experience and how God spoke to me through ADPI.
Throughout recruitment, I had been completely torn all week. The day before pref I sat in a rocking chair outside of a break house and prayed for about an hour just for God’s guidance and for him to be with me through preference round. I prayed for a few things to be mentioned during preference round at whichever house was meant for me.
The next day during pref, as soon as Avery Hudson handed me my flower I knew that God was unraveling my prayers right in front of my eyes. Avery Hudson has been nothing short of an answered prayer in my life. She is the perfect example of someone who I can look up to that I know will hold me accountable.
Back to preference round, one girl stood up and read out a letter where she mentioned the song “you say” by Lauren Daigle which was yet another answered prayer. This song has consistently been my go to song whenever I feel alone and in need of God’s wisdom.
While I was praying to God the previous day, I told him that not only did I want to be somewhere that I was loved and accepted for who I am; but I wanted to be somewhere that holds me accountable and makes me a better person. During preference round, we were told that ADPI will hold us accountable and grow us in our faith. This was my exact prayer.
After preference round at ADPI I knew exactly the place God had planned for me. I have never been more happy to be a part of a group and finally feel like I am loved and like I belong somewhere. ADPI is not just a sorority but it is my family. I am so lucky to live in an answered prayer every day that I am an ADPI.
